ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said, "If any of you is invited to a meal, you should accept. If fasting, you should pray(1)." i.e. make a supplication (asking God to bless the hosts). Footnotes: (1) This could also mean voluntary units of prayer in the house of the hosts. Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب السير باب ما جاء فى خروج النساء فى الحرب

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلاَلٍ الصَّوَّافُ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الضُّبَعِىُّ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَغْزُو بِأُمِّ سُلَيْمٍ وَنِسْوَةٍ مَعَهَا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يَسْقِينَ الْمَاءَ وَيُدَاوِينَ الْجَرْحَى. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِى الْبَابِ عَنِ الرُّبَيِّعِ بِنْتِ مُعَوِّذٍ. وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.
